Industrial Cadets Programme Posted on July 26, 2021July 26, 2021 by Astrid Broderstad We wish to say a huge Well Done to 8 of our students who have recently graduated from the Industrial Cadets programme. During the graduation ceremony students listened to an inspiring presentation from an engineer from the RAF: Office Commanding 5001 Squadron Alicia “Lissy” Mason, and her journey into engineering. Out of the two teams we entered, we are delighted that The Dorcan Academy Team 2 received recognition for their project. Well done to Bea Miles, Thomas Hamilton, Rishaan Shaik, Keegan Rodrigues and Hayden Honor. Congratulations also go to Sophie O’Nion, Corryn Cook and Zac Bates for taking part.

Year 7 Art Project Posted on July 16, 2021July 16, 2021 by Anne Cleary Art-and-Photography-Year-7-projectDownload This selection of work by Year 7 students at The Dorcan Academy features outcomes for the Mechanical Forms project. The students responded creatively to the brief ‘to create a ceramic robot inspired by the contemporary artist Michael Klapthor, using mechanical objects pressed into the clay’s surface to create robotic details and textures’. We think these characterful ceramic robots are great!
