The curriculum at The Dorcan Academy is designed to motivate, enthuse and excite students. We believe that young people achieve their best when they are confident and their strengths are recognised. We place students in teaching groups where their learning will be supported and try to keep group sizes low. Students are placed in curriculum pathways designed to meet their particular learning needs, including an extended curriculum pathway to provide high levels of stretch and challenge for our most able children, and tailored support and specialist tuition for children with particular literacy or numeracy needs. Within these pathways students either work in sets or as mixed ability groups depending on the subject.
