Welcome to all Year 6 Parents

Below are the important transition dates for the academic year 2025-2026

Tuesday 23 – Friday 26 September 2025

The Dorcan Academy WOW event. Year 6 will be invited to attend The Dorcan Academy with their primary school teacher for a day. This is to experience all the amazing opportunities Dorcan offers its students

Thursday 2 October 2025- Open Evening 6pm to 8pm

• Open evening: All parents are invited to our open evening, where we will showcase all that is on offer at Dorcan. We would love to meet you. This is open to all regardless of entry year.

Thursday 11 December 2025

• We would like to invite Y5 and Y6 to the premiere of our Christmas show: Students will attend during the school day with their primary teachers.

Tuesday 19 May 2026

• Transition Picnic: Opportunity for students from our non- cluster schools to meet peers in a similar position to them.

Tuesday 30 June 2026

• Parental meetings with Year 7 Tutor: these meetings may be supported by Head of House, Deputy Head of House or Senior Leader depending on numbers

Wednesday 1 July, Thursday 2 July and Friday 3 July 2026

• Transition Days for new Year 7 students

Thursday 2 July 2026

Senior Leadership Team talk in the Hall at 6:00pm (this will be a bookable event with the option to host a further talk at 6:45pm if required)
