Welcome to Dorcan
As Head teacher, I am delighted to welcome you to our school through this website.Dorcan Technology College is a school that focuses on our young people as students, becoming independent and confident learners responsible for themselves, their environment and others in their community. Our school is ‘All about learning’ and while we recognize that high academic standards are important we also know that broader learning skills are essential to equip all our students for life beyond school. We want success for every one of our students and understand that individuals have different learning needs.
We work hard to create a safe and secure atmosphere and a high quality environment that includes the latest educational practice and innovative use of technology. Ofsted 2009 recognized that our curriculum is outstanding and that the care and support we provide and the quality of teaching are also good. Our results have improved year on year and in 2011, 81% of our young people achieved 5A*-C grades and 54% 5A*-C including English and Maths.
