Inspiring the Future: Year 10 Girls Explore Tech Careers at UWE Bristol

Year 10 Girls Attend “Girls in Tech” Event at UWE Bristol

Last week a group of ambitious Year 10 students took part in an inspiring Girls in Tech event hosted by UWE Bristol, designed to ignite interest in technology and highlight the vast opportunities available in the modern digital world.

Throughout the day, the students engaged in a range of interactive workshops showcasing key areas of today’s tech landscape. Sessions included cyber security, software testing, E‑Sports, and hands-on activities demonstrating how technology can be used to solve real-life problems. Each workshop aimed to build confidence, develop problem‑solving skills, and shine a light on the creativity and innovation at the heart of the technology sector.

The purpose of the event was to encourage more young women to pursue technology-related courses at university, challenge gender stereotypes, and provide insight into the diverse career pathways available—from digital forensics to game development, AI, and beyond.
