BBC ‘Share Your Story’
Students in Years 7 – 10 were lucky enough to take part in the BBC’s ‘Share Your Story’ event today. Hosted by a former Blue Peter presenter, students listened to two inspiring stories from current BBC employees. Hannah-Elisabeth Ricketts, Internal Communications and Senior Advisor at the BBC, shared her moving story with students about overcoming the challenges of being visually impaired. Thom Hanson, an assistant producer at the BBC, told students about his career journey and the benefits of taking risks and learning from mistakes. Our students asked poignant, thoughtful questions of both presenters, and were heralded as ‘the best school in Swindon’ by the visiting BBC team!
This event celebrated 100 years of sharing stories at the BBC. As part of this celebration, students have been invited to enter the Young Reporter competition, to encourage them to find their voice and share their story.
